A Message to Student Cartoonists

Over Thanksgiving weekend, I'm proud to share Blundergrads got picked up by its 48th campus paper.

First & foremost, I want to thank all of the editors who thought the comic would be a fun addition to their papers, and all of the readers who've taken the time to let me know they enjoy the strip. Blundergrads is fueled by my belief that there's a dearth of entertainment that adequately satirizes college, aka the best, craziest, & most surreal four years of our lives. Naturally, campus papers are an ideal place for a strip like this to live. My intentions are for Blundergrads to 1) pinch hit for papers that don't have a student cartoonist, 2) live in harmony alongside student-drawn comics, or 3) act as the occasional "cool substitute teacher" that can fill in when student cartoonists need a break.

If there are any current/aspiring student cartoonists reading this who feel that Blundergrads has interfered with their work, or prevented them from contributing material to their paper, please email me. The last thing I want to do is step on toes! Blundergrads never would have existed without the opportunity I was given to draw for my alma mater's weekly paper.

That being said, I'm grateful to be a guest in the 48 papers that run the strip, and I appreciate the exposure they provide. If any of you student cartoonists would benefit from exposure this blog could provide, I'd be honored for you to be my guest as well. I'd like to create a semi-regular entry spotlighting the best student work, and/or link to your site.

Sincerely,

Phil
